Gardening Hack #19 – Tiny Trees

If you would love to have trees but just don’t have the space, potted trees may be your solution. With a pot that is one foot in diameter and one foot deep, you can plant small fruit trees such as figs or calamondin orange trees. Figs in particular are a great option because they take well to small containers and can be moved outdoors when it’s above freezing. They add a Mediterranean vibe to your home’s exterior.

If you’ve got a little more space, you can skip the container and opt to plant small trees in the yard. Dwarf trees grow to only about 15 feet tall while camellias, crepe myrtle, and dogwoods are other good little tree options you can get. For those of you that like the idea of growing a little of your own food though, the fig tree makes a great option for really small spaces as we already mentioned You can get two of them by clicking on the image below for the perfect edible entryway.
